May Inspiration Board

MeMadeMay has made its mark

Header image: @junolovesthread  | Sienna Dress

After a month of mirror selfies and wardrobe reconfiguration (read, outfit repeats), we've come to the end of #MeMadeMay and I am proud to say that I stuck to my pledge to wear a Modern Sewing Co. garment every single day of the month. Which isn't hard as I make almost everything aside from knitwear (which is this winter's challenge).

What's been more deserving of kudos is the fantastic outfits that you've been tagging us in throughout the month.

It's clear the sunshine has not only brought out vivid colours and flowing fabrics but I also love how each individual has interpreted the pattern to fit their own sense of style.

So, I've rounded up the fabulous makes you've shared with us as our May Inspiration. I hope you enjoy having a browse and maybe it will spark an idea or two. Remember to keep tagging us in your photos, we love to see them!

@hotsoupsewing | Frida Shirt with front ties instead of buttons

@bus__stop__studios | Worker Trousers in such a fun surf board fabric

@suki.sews  | Daphne Trousers with a matching linen top

@thatssewkay | Classic Shirt in a citrus linen

@rachelsalenius | Celia Dress

@anzymillblenk | Cara Top with a frill neck hack in a gingham seersucker

@make.town | Jesse Jumpsuit

This week we also collaborated with @HappilyDressed in a Trouser Trade pattern swap. Brandon sewed his own version of the Worker Trousers in a crisp white denim. Catch up on Instagram to see how we're getting on.

I was also interviewed recently on The Sewing Social Podcast with Gemma Daly (@thedalythread), where we explore how my love for quality finishing and precision has shaped my approach to home sewing - proving that handmade can be every bit as polished as designer. You can listen to the episode here!
