I used the workshop and it was an incredible resource. It helped me so much and definitely elevated my coat. I am so proud of the final outcome, so thank you for such detailed instructions and such an amazing pattern.

Whenever I use one of the MSCo patterns, I can only describe the feeling as 'coming home'! I use a variety of brands and the MSCo patterns all just make sense and you just know that every detail has been thought of and that it will work out exactly as it's supposed to - not something you can say about all pattern brands!

Spring Trousers

When I returned to Australia after traveling for many years, I felt my shirt/ blouse making skills needed a bit of a brush up so I enrolled in ‘The Art of Shirt Making’ online course. Although I knew most of the skills, it was very beneficial for me to slow down, follow precise instructions and take the time to tailor my shirts.

I learnt to sew from my mother when I was a very young child, and I have just now been returning to it and remembering why I loved it so much all those years ago. The video really gave me the confidence boost I needed to tackle things like the collar, collar stand, and front placket. It all looks so professional and I feel rather proud of myself :)

Maker Spotlights:

Sareeka

"I’ve been sewing for around two years now and have made a full wardrobe. It sounds dramatic, but I’d say sewing has changed my life. I know it will be a lifelong hobby and it’s become a huge part of my identity and how I live my life.

The first garment I ever made was the Modern Sewing Co. Over Shirt - I couldn’t believe I’d made something so beautiful. Once I finished it, I thought: if I can sew this, I can sew anything!"

Rachel

"Like all of Hetty’s patterns, the Frida shirt incorporates beautiful finishing techniques, such as French seams and a bias-bound neckline. It’s another timeless piece that I can see myself making again and again - I'm already planning a cosy wool version for this winter."

Sooyoung

"I am so proud of the little collection of memade items that I’ve built so far. It feels amazing to work with my hands, create something, and get better each time. With practice, my stitches are straighter, my finishes neater, and the construction more intuitive. In the age where everything has moved to digital, it feels truly special to build something so tangible."

Christina

"The Celia Dress is one of my most worn makes ever! I used a hemp cotton blend from Merchant and Mills and paired with this design makes, it’s the perfect dress to throw on when I need to feel put together. I’ve got another version planned in a micro check navy gingham for fall."

Nisan

"Oh, the Jesse Jumpsuit. I fell in love with this pattern the moment I saw the first toiles of it on Hetty, and patiently waited for it to be released for months! I had been waiting for the perfect workwear inspired jumpsuit pattern to come along for years, and the Jesse fits the bill perfectly."

Rebecca

"The Sienna Dress has perfectly filled a hole in my handmade wardrobe, that of a comfortable but elevated dress. I prioritise comfort, but want to feel classic and elegant at the same time. The silhouette of the Sienna dress is exactly that. I absolutely love this pattern, and I have plans for a second version in the future. "
