It's all in the detail this week... jazzy patch pockets for your attention! Stitching details on patch pockets is such a great way to add character to a garment. There are endless creative options and the nice thing is that if you mess it up you can simply cut a new pocket and start again.
I took a screenshot of the lovely story below as it captures a sentiment I've also begun to share in my own sewing. Since I did a one month tailoring course over the summer, I have started to sew slower and with more care. It gives me more time to put thought into the details and that's often the difference between a really great garment and an average one. I know
Patch Pocket Inspiration
I know I'm not the only person who enjoys watching sewing videos on Instagram (so soothing!). I was still rather surprised that this short video of me sewing a patch pocket for the Worker Trouser has been watched by over 2 million people - that's a lot of potential pockets being made! This is one of my own makes - the new Daphne Trouser. I spontaneously drew this stitching design with chalk before stitching and I love the effect.
