An extra bank holiday

@stitch.bekah | Over Shirt

It's nearly the Jubilee weekend here in the UK and lots of us are working only 3 days this week. It feels oddly like Christmas... no one seems to be working very hard and everyone is ready for festivities and extra days off. Bring on the BBQs!
This week's inspo board is a real mix with no theme to pull it together, other than the fact I love all of these makes. In particular I LOVE the matching hat and Over Shirt above, what a beautiful colour and great idea.
Last weekend I enjoyed my first wedding of the year and I got to wear my yellow silk two piece (as featured in our 'long reads' a few weeks ago!) Scroll down to see that outfit in action...
For more summer sewing inspiration check out our blog where I save all of these weekly inspiration boards. I hope they come in handy to refer back to.
Happy summer sewing and happy bank holiday if you're UK based!

Cara Top & Spring Trousers - sometimes known as the Two Piece

This is one of my own makes that I wore to a wedding last weekend. Some of you might recognise this as the outfit that started in a pot of dye a few weeks ago and slowly become the silk two piece you see now!
I absolutely loved wearing this outfit. It was breathable, covered my skin but still felt like a bit of a statement. I should also mention the semi elasticated waistband was a winner for feeling comfortable and the deep pockets were very useful for sunglasses, phone, lip balm etc.
I cut size 10 in both pieces and I used a soft silk fabric.
