Learn to sew a complete menswear outfit with our Menswear Capsule Workshop. You'll learn how to make 3 high quality garments to create an outfit that will stand the test of time. Our workshops were originally filmed for the women's versions of these patterns but the making process is identical. You'll learn many skills to take forward with your sewing to continue creating elevated, quality garments with professional finishing techniques.

This series will take you through the process of making 3 garments using professional sewing techniques.

This series includes:

3 x PDF Patterns: Unisex Shirt, Jaime Jacket & Worker Trousers (Men's version)

2 x Pre-recorded Tutorials: Worker Trouser Workshop (2 hours, 18 minutes) and Over Shirt Workshop (2 hours, 13 minutes). You can watch the workshop in your own time as many times as you want.

Level: Intermediates and ambitious beginners

Sizes: Sizes XS2 - XL3 (with PDF Layers)

Sewing process:

We recommend completing the series in the following order:

1. Sew your Unisex Shirt using the Over Shirt Workshop (pre-recorded tutorial)

2. Sew your Worker Trousers using the Workshop Trouser Workshop (pre-recorded tutorial)

3. Jaime Jacket (PDF instructions). Use the written instructions along with the skills learnt in the previous workshops to complete your final garment.

Over Shirt Workshop:

The workshop will take you through at a steady pace and included built in chapters to break down the project into bitesize stages. You will learn how to sew with precision, using run & fell seams, sewing complicated plackets & cuff openings, classic collar construction and plenty of detailed top stitching.

Chapters:

  1. Preparing Your Pieces
  2. Stitching the Fronts
  3. Stitching the Back Yoke
  4. Side Seams - Run & Fell
  5. Placket Construction
  6. Sleeve Seams - Run & Fell
  7. Sewing the Cuffs
  8. Inserting the Sleeves
  9. Collar & Collar Stand
  10. Finishing the Hem
  11. Buttons & Button Holes

Worker Trouser Workshop

During the trouser workshop you'll learn how to do a button fly fastening finished with internal binding, closing the crotch, waistband with belt loops, front pockets with facings, patch pockets, flat felled seams, topstitching details and buttons & button holes.

These skills will be transferable to any garment you sew, in particular all future pairs of trousers.

  1. Back Pockets
  2. Front Pockets
  3. Side Seams
  4. The Fly - Concealed Button Stand with Binding Finishing
  5. Waistband
  6. Button Holes & Buttons

Where to find your patterns & workshops:

After purchasing you'll find your PDF pattern download and any workshops in your account page. Simply log in (or create an account using the same email address used to purchase) and click the account button in the top right corner. The most up to date versions of the patterns will always be available from within your account. If any changes are made to the pattern or instructions you’ll receive an email notification.

    How to print your pattern:

You have two options for printing out your pattern.

    1. You can get it printed in A0 at a printing shop or sewing pattern company. Search for "sewing pattern printing company" to find a company that does this in your region.

    2. Or you can print it yourself on a home printer in A4 or US Letter format and then tile the pages together using tape.

    Using PDF layers:

All of our patterns come with PDF layers so you can select the sizes you want to view and print. To do this you’ll need a PDF viewer such as Adobe Acrobat Reader (this is free to download).
