Rib Sweater PDF Pattern

£12.50

The Rib Sweater is our answer to a slouchy jersey jumper but with a bit more style. Think ‘big cosy sweatshirt’ that somehow manages to feel both supremely relaxed yet chic.

This pattern comes with two options for the collar height, the full version and a shorter version that sits lower on the neck. It is a simple piece to make which means it’s a great project for beginners.

You can search instagram for customer makes with the hashtag #msribsweater

Skill Level

Suitable for beginners and early makers.

Construction techniques: Simple stretch stitch seams and a small amount of topstitching

Sizing & Fit

UK Sizes 4 - 28 (with PDF Layers)

This style is relaxed and slouchy so it is a forgiving garment in terms of fit. Choose the size closest to your measurements and if you want an extra slouchy and oversized sweater then opt for one size bigger.

Lovely proportions to this pattern

Okay, I love this pattern. I have sewn 4 already and have plans to adapt it into some T-shirts for spring. The neckline and band work perfectly together. I did reduce the height of the high band by 1cm, used a heavier weight ribbing and find it very flattering to wear. I have made both styles and love them both. The slightly dropped shoulders are perfectly balanced with a higher armhole fit. Once again we have been given an expertly drafted pattern to work with. Perfection!

Great jumper!

Another great pattern! I live in Texas and this jumper is perfect for fall evenings and winter wear. I used a bamboo fleece which makes it super cozy and I love the longer cuffs / slightly balloon sleeves which make it feel a little bit special. Instructions were clear (love the illustrations) and a fairly simple make; I am newer to knits and find them intimidating but this pattern was perfect to help me gain confidence. Can’t wait to make the higher neck!
