This pattern is a fitted jersey piece and it should feel like a second skin. Materials Needed

Suitable fabrics: The Boatneck Top is a fitted jersey pattern which means it needs to be paired with a stretchy fabric. You can use a jersey with an elastane blend or a fabric knitted with plenty of stretch. For a wearable wardrobe basic we recommend using a lovely lightweight jersey in a fibre of your choice.

Fabric requirements: Our lay-plans are always done on a single layer of fabric to reduce wastage.

Self Fabric width 150cm | Sizes 4 - 12 = 100cm | Sizes 14 - 20 = 120cm  | Sizes 14 - 20 = 125cm

Self Fabric width 110cm | Sizes 4 - 12 = 120cm | Sizes 14 - 20 = 125cm | Sizes 14 - 20 = 150cm

Materials list: Self Fabric (see above), 1 x spool of thread or 4 spools if you're using an overlocker

Pages to print: Instructions - 8, A4/US Letter - 30, A0 - 2

Boatneck Top

I have really enjoyed making and wearing this top. It is the first time I have used this pattern company and I am very impressed. The instructions are very clear well illustrated and easy to follow. My measurements put me in a size 10. I made a toile and found that the back neckline gapped, I adjusted the pattern made another toile and it was perfect. The fabric I used for my top is a lightweight wool with a lot of stretch and I couldn’t be more pleased with it the fit is great. I have made three altogether now as it was so successful. I had left over fabric with each top so made ‘cowl necks’ to match,it makes my top more versatile giving me two looks. I would recommend this top quick and easy to make. Thanks Hetty.

Happy sewer!

This is another super pattern from Hetty. It is no ordinary tee shirt! The neckline is lovely and the construction is very clever. Great instructions. I did find that it came up a bit small (the first size I made - my usual size for MSC - was a bit tighter than skin tight). I do prefer slightly longer arms so I've adjusted my pattern. I've made 3 now and have more planned. It really is worth getting this pattern for the neckline alone! Thank you so much Hetty.

A bit different !

I like this pattern a lot. It was easy in the main albeit I struggled a little to understand the instructions for the neck facing. It is that feature that makes it different to just a standard boat neck T-shirt. I’ve written notes for the next one!
