Classic Jacket

My first jacket! Inspired to try for a high end finish with bound seams. Made it in a lightweight denim which is perfect for fall & spring. Great pattern, will definitely make more.

Potters jacket

Excellent pattern, one I will make again. I made an unlined version, using a plain canvas, bound the seams, and shortened it by about 4cm - I’m not tall.

Great fit versatile jacket

I made mine jacket in size 14, using 410 gsm cotton twill with a lightweight silk lining. This was my first attempt at sewing a jacket, but my confidence soared after achieving success with a classic shirt pattern. I can honestly say I am extremely pleased with the final result! The pattern is easy to assemble, and the sewing instructions are crystal clear. The only modification I made was incorporating instructions from the classic shirt pattern to create sleeves with cuffs and plackets. I also added the gusset pocket hack to give it a more casual look and extended its length by about 8 cm. I considered making it in size 16 to allow room for wool garments underneath, but I'm glad that I stuck with size 14 (my classic shirt is also size 14). The fit is perfect all around, leaving space for thicker clothing. I'm not particularly fond of oversized garments because they often make me look bulky, but this fit is ideal! Depending on the fabric you choose, this seemingly "ordinary" jacket can effortlessly complement a variety of styles. I haven't had the chance to wear it yet due to the hot weather, but I am certain it will become a staple in my autumn wardrobe. Thank you for a great pattern!
