The Autumn Edit

The Darcy Coat is an elegant and comfortable coat that is designed to work with your body, not against it. Fit wise this coat is very over-sized and roomy with volume put into the pattern through a dropped shoulder, deep armholes, wide sleeves and a wide main body. There are a few different design options with this piece so you can pick and choose which you like from the instructions to create a garment that’s to your liking.

Our PDF Pattern comes with in depth written instructions, an A4 & US Letter tiles (100 pages for printing) and an A0 version (5 pages for printing). The pattern also comes with sizes on different layers.

Skill level: Intermediate / advanced sewers (there are design options for first time coat makers and also experienced sewers)

Fit notes: This is a neat fit with full length sleeves and straight body shape. If you're sewing this piece in wool you might consider a size up to allow for bulky winter layering (optional suggestion, please check the sizing chart before cutting).

The French Smock is a casual classic that comes with a huge range of design options which include: a button up placket OR zip fastening, different bib shapes, an optional trim for the curved bib, optional patch pockets, 2 different lengths and options for thick or thin fabrics for the cuff, sleeve placket and neck binding (thin fabrics can use the smaller pattern pieces, thicker fabrics will want to use the wider pattern pieces.

With this pattern you’ll be able to create your own truly unique garment by selecting your favourite features and making something that’s personal to you.

Construction techniques: Front button placket, optional zip fastening (for more experienced makers), full sleeve with cuff and plackets, flat binding, run & fell seams and topstitching details.

Suitable fabrics: Linen, poplin, lawn, lightweight denim and twill for a 'blouse' version. For a heavier 'outdoor layer' version you can use corduroy, denim, wool suit or a lightweight wool felt.

Suitable fabrics: Light/medium denim, light/medium twill, light weight canvas, needlecord, wool suiting, linen (beware as linen will crease heavily)

Materials list: Self fabric, fabric for pocket bags & binding - a 40cm strip of lightweight cotton (any width of fabric), 4 x buttons (around 1.5/2cm) or 3 x buttons (around 1.5/2cm) and 16-18cm zip, elastic (roughly 3cm wide), thread in a colour of your choice and about 80cm of good quality fusing

Our Worker Trousers are the ultimate everyday trousers. Fitted on the hips with a slight balloon in the leg for volume & comfort. Our PDF Pattern comes with in depth written instructions, an A4 tile copy, US Letter tiles and an A0 version.

Skill level: Intermediate sewers (you will need extra ambition and focus for the fly area)

Fit notes: These trousers are slightly lower on the high waisted spectrum, sitting comfortably above the hip but not too high up the waist. They are cut to fit neatly on the body & hips and then flare slightly on the thigh and taper in again at the ankle.

Construction techniques: Concealed button fly or zip fly with binding detailing, side pockets, patch pockets, waistband & belt loops.

Suitable fabrics: These trousers work well in mid-heavy weight denims and twills.

Construction techniques: Simple stretch stitch seams and a small amount of topstitching

Suitable fabrics: Jersey fabric (fleece or french terry). This style also has the potentially to work in a soft wool.

Fit notes: The Over Shirt has dropped shoulders with a roomy square fit and a cropped length (finishing just on the hips). Those looking for a slightly longer length can very easily adjust the pattern to add extra length to the body - this works particularly well with heavier fabrics.

Construction techniques: Run & fell seams, placket & cuff, collar & collar stand, double yoke and patch pockets

Suitable fabrics: This piece works in a huge range of fabrics, from heavier denims and twills to lighter weight cottons & linens. You could even try a wool felt version for winter.
